A year after the events of SSSS.Gridman, the world seems peaceful. Yūta Hibiki, Rikka Takarada, and Shō Utsumi have returned to their normal lives, though Yūta struggles with lost memories of his time fused with Gridman. Rikka and Shō work on a play for the school festival, while Yūta contemplates confessing his feelings to Rikka. However, their tranquility is shattered when a kaiju suddenly appears, threatening the city. Yūta merges with Gridman once again to combat the creature, joined by the Neon Genesis Junior High Students and a revived Gauma, who now commands DynaRex. Together, they battle the kaiju and uncover a phenomenon causing different universes to overlap, leading to a potential Big Crunch. As they confront this new threat, Yūta begins to experience what he believes are ghostly apparitions, adding to the mystery and danger they face.
